View Full Version : Blinding me with science

Antón Solucio

((In the basement))
Antón poured a large number of small gears from a cardboard box into a drawer. He looked back over at the cardboard boxes and frowned. "We did get my hydrophonic electromagnullfier, didn't we?" He began looking anxiously around what had not yet been unpacked.

George Blythe

"I think I packed it in the hypothermic confudulator." George said, holding some test tubes up to the light. "Do you think these are the same size?"

Antón Solucio

"And where would the hypothermic confudulator be?" Antón zoomed over to George and squinted at the test tubes. "No, that one with the markings is a bit larger. I use that one to--" He shot a look across the room. "Is that--" He rushed over to a box and opened it, sighing as he looked inside. "Just the whirlblee cantoclocks."

George Blythe
April 6th, 2007, 11:46 AM
"Right." George put the larger one on a pile, then started setting up some tables. He glanced upwards. "Are you sure it'll be alright without any natural light in here? And the whirlbee cantoclocks should go over there." He pointed to what, at present, was a dusty and dirty corner of the room.

Antón nodded and set the cantoclocks in the indicated corner, only bothering to give the area a cursory wipe. He clicked his tongue for a few seconds before replying. "It ought to be fine down here until we need to use it. We'll probably need to move it upstairs eventually though. Do you think we'll need to find a hidden spot for it though? Is Tobias planning on bringing any of his little friends here?"

George Blythe
April 6th, 2007, 11:57 AM
"I mean generally." George said. "And no, I don't suppse Tobias will do anything of the sort. I guess he'll generally keep out of the way. I mean, they'll have to, when we get it upstairs, it'll be much bigger then, won't it?" George stacked some books. "I mean, if it works."

Antón Solucio
April 6th, 2007, 12:07 PM
"Oh, it should work." Antón replied, "I think. And yes, the natural light should activate the solar mechanism which will in turn, combine with, well, everything else, stimulating the--well, you get the idea." He tossed the now empty box to the empty box pile and smiled. "I suppose it doesn't matter where it goes upstairs if we're not going to get any visitors."

Conrad Beecher
April 6th, 2007, 12:09 PM
"Has anyone seen my gyrodynamic spatula?" Conrad asked frantically, bounding down the basement stairs by twos and threes with Styrofoam from packing boxes all over his hair and shoulders. "I can't find it anywhere!"

George Blythe
April 6th, 2007, 12:16 PM
"Erm, did someone use it for pancakes?" George said, helpfully, giving Conrad a grin. "These photosynthetic defibrilators are getting everywhere, does anyone have a box? And how is having the bench there? I think the burner would fit." George was messing around with a box full of odds and ends that probably would have made very little sense to anyone apart from the three men in the room.

Antón Solucio

"No, hashbrowns." Antón replied. "Don't worry, though. I cleaned it. It should be in the kitchen somewhere." The old man looked at the bench and waggled his hands back and forth. "Hmm. Maybe a liiiittle bit more to the left?" He looked out at the boxes. "How many are there? I think we have a pretty good-sized crate somewhere."

Conrad Beecher
April 6th, 2007, 12:29 PM
"It's not in the kitchen!" Conrad exclaimed anxiously, digging into a box and sending photosynthetic defibrilators everywhere. "Oh...oh wait..." He unburied himself from the box and sat back on his knees, holding the prized spatula in his hands like a trophy. "Yes, yes. Found it!" He glanced over to the bench, just remembering about it. "Bench's fine."

George Blythe
April 6th, 2007, 12:42 PM
George pushed the bench slightly to the left, and started to scramble on the floor, picking up all the darn photosynthetic defibrilators. "Right. I got a box for them."

Antón Solucio

Antón momentarily looked rather shocked. "I fixed hashbrowns with a regular spatula?" He then grinned and looked proud. "I fixed hashbrowns with a regular spatula."

Tobias Blythe
April 6th, 2007, 12:45 PM
"A box of my stuff is missing, is it down here?" Tobias asked, coming partway down the stairs.

Conrad Beecher
April 6th, 2007, 12:46 PM
Conrad looked surprised. "That's incredible," he said with awe before turning the spatula over to the shiny metal side and glancing at his reflection, smoothing his hair. "This southern weather makes my hair all sticky," he complained.

George Blythe
April 6th, 2007, 12:49 PM
"Unless you packed these..." George held up some things that looked suspiciously like curling tongs, but were probably something scientific. "And shouldn't you be getting to school?"

Antón Solucio
April 6th, 2007, 12:52 PM
"We can always shave it off!" Antón replied with a grin. "Then there won't be any hair to be sticky!" He bent his knees so that he was level with the boy. "Now, what's this, young Tobias? What have you lost?"

Tobias Blythe
April 6th, 2007, 12:57 PM
"I'm starting Monday," Tobias reminded him. "A box of my stuff is missing. It had books and things in it."

Conrad Beecher
April 6th, 2007, 01:03 PM
"Some pancakes for lunch should cheer you up, hmm?" Conrad offered Toby with a wink. "We should invent a search and find robot for problems like that," he mused as he got to his feet and started up the stairs, gyrodynamic spatula in his hand.

((out!))

George Blythe
April 6th, 2007, 01:04 PM
"Ah yes, of course." George smiled at his son. "Just gone? Erm.." He looked around the room. "I don't know, er, could it still be in the car?"

Tobias Blythe
April 6th, 2007, 01:09 PM
Tobias made a face at Conrad's back before turnign back to his dad and shaking his head. "I already looked there."

George Blythe
April 6th, 2007, 01:12 PM
"Oh!" George found something in his hand. "I bet this'd..." And without any further explanation, he shot off up the stairs.

Tobias sighed. "I'll find it myself," he muttered, stomping back up the stairs.
