Frankie sat on the bench in her cell, looking angrily at the wall. "This.. this is ridiculous. You took their side." She said, getting up to go stand by the door. "Do I really need to be in here? I'm sure Milt is more of a danger to society."

Amby had just come back in from putting the man in the dog pen, and he went over to the sink, rinding his hands before he stepped over to Fanny's cell, his face still a bit red. "He had his hand on your leg he pointed out, as he pulled out the keys and opened the cell door, stepping inside.
He shut the door behind him. "You're the one who broke the law," he said. "What happened?"

"He was trying to boost me out of the window." Frankie replied, biting her lip. "Except then we realized that you would have probably figured out who it was..." She paused. "You're just upset that Milt was touching me? Milt who spends all his time wooing a sixty year old lady for her baked goods Milt?"
She asked, leaning against the bars.

"You shouldn't have been in there," Amby informed her seriously. "Do you think I wanted to--" He grimaced, then stepped closer to her.
"It should have been me," he informed her, before he reached, a bit stiffly, for one of her shoulders.
And kissed her.

Frankie kissed him back for a moment, frowning. "Well, you've certainly got a handle on that, now don't you?" She said, stepping out and away from him. "I took Milt with so he could write a good story if we found something. There were loads of weird things in that lab, Officer, and the way Blythe was going on about it the other day, I wanted to investigate. That's why I went to the lab."

"You can't just break into people's houses, Frankie!" Amby exclaimed, making sure to put himself between her and the door. "You should have gotten me. We could have come up with a reason to get a warrant. And then I could have hoisted you out the window-- not that you would have needed to be hoisted, seeing as it wouldn't have been illegal."
Frankie Prescotti
May 26th, 2007, 01:58 AM
"That would have been messy. We were just having a sneak around, it wasn't like we were going to take anything, Officer." She put her hands on her hips and stared at him. "I can't believe you're jealous. You have no reason to be."
Amby Grissom
May 26th, 2007, 02:01 AM
"Just having a 'sneak around,' Frankie?" Amby asked, incredulous. "Are you crazy? You can't do that. It's breaking the law. You think I want to do this?"
He crossed his arms over his chest. "Prove it."
Frankie Prescotti
May 26th, 2007, 02:06 AM
"Prove it!" Frankie repeated. "Am I allowed to call you Amby, now, Officer?" She asked. "And it's only breaking the law if you get caught. Amby." The woman rolled her eyes. "How would you like me to prove you've no reason to be jealous? Kiss you or something?" Frankie asked boredly.

"Which you did get caught," Amby pointed out. "And how is it going to look if I, say, if I want to take you out and everyone in town knows you've been arrested?"
He rolled his eyes at her. "You can kiss me anyhow," he muttered. "I can't tell from that. Tell me what you saw. Give me something that would let you out of here."

"Well, in a way, it's a handy way to get a girl's number." Frankie pointed out. "And I got arrested for being a good citizen. I alerted you to the fact that those scientists were passed out in their own lab." She told him, sitting primly on the bench. "Wonder what did them in? Plus, who has a weird lab in their basement? Hm, Amby?"
Amby Grissom
May 26th, 2007, 02:17 AM
"Scientists!" Amby answered. "Frankie, if you go down there, and you find something without a warrant, we can't use it to bring them to justice because it won't count as evidence! They could claim you planted it; you could get in even more trouble."
He looked seriously concerned now. "And besides, I work for the police department. I already have your number."

Frankie looked at him for moment. "It was a joke." She explained, crossing her arms. "I think their reactions are all we needed. Were you listening to the older one? He didn't care that we had broken in, he just wanted us out of there! He didn't even want the kid to call the police. And first they accused us of knocking out Blythe and the blonde one and then he made up that phony sleep serum story." She took a deep breath, glaring at him. "And you took their side."

Amby gave Frankie a tired look, then, arms over his chest, he ambled toward her, then reached for her arm. "That's because it's my job to take the side of the people who aren't breaking the law. It's nothing personal, Frankie."

May 28th, 2007, 01:17 AM
The woman crossly moved down the bench, pulling her arm out of reach. "Stop it. I'm trying to talk to you." Frankie looked up at the other man. "Fine. You're right, it is your job. Guess it was also your job to be more upset at the fact Milt was touching my leg than the fact that there were unconscious men in the room." She said grumpily.
Amby Grissom
May 28th, 2007, 01:22 AM
"And I'm trying to--" Amby's face went red, and he stepped away. "I don't want anyone else touching your leg. I don't want anyone else touching any part of you. Is that a problem?"

May 28th, 2007, 01:27 AM
Frankie looked him over, as if appraising him. "No." She said at last. "That's charming, sort of." She admitted, patting the bench next to her. "I am allowed to touch family members, yes?"

Amby gave her a sort of incredulous look. "I should hope so," he answered, hesitating before he removed his cap and sat down on the seat next to her, reaching for her hand to twine his fingers with hers. "And I don't want you breaking into anywhere with anyone else, either," he added, a bit sheepishly. "If you're going to play hero, I want to be a hero, too."
Frankie Prescotti
May 28th, 2007, 01:39 AM
"I think Milt and I were playing Mudraker, but I'll be sure to only play hero with you in the future." She replied, smiling down at their hands. "Boy, you're a quick study, aren't you? Here I was, all afraid I'd have to wait another week to get to handholding."

Amby raised an eyebrow. "I took a correspondence course," he answered dryly, squeezing her hand as he looked at her intently. "Worth every penny. What comes after hand-holding?"

It was Frankie's turn to go red. "Another dinner." She said matter of factly, looking over at him. "And you should save that look for at least the fifth date, officer."
Amby Grissom
May 28th, 2007, 01:54 AM
Amby blinked, then coughed at the woman, trying to look as earnest as humanly possibly. "Er, I, ah...I. Ah. Didn't realize I wasn't supposed to-- what look?" he asked her, seeming a bit helpless. "And I can't very well take you out to dinner if you've been arrested."
Frankie Prescotti
May 28th, 2007, 01:58 AM
"But you can paw at me within in the cell?" Frankie replied sweetly. "And that look, where you look all hungry. And am I really arrested? I don't see anyone pressing charges." She pointed out, moving in closer towards him with a grin.
Amby Grissom
May 28th, 2007, 02:02 AM
"I'm not pawing!" Amby objected. "I'm months away from pawing!"
He frowned, then mimicked the same look again. "This look?" he asked her, gulping slightly as she moved toward him. His stomach went all fluttery and he looked like he might die of asphyxiation.
He tugged at his collar, then reached for her other hand. "Do you want me to press against yo-- I mean, charges against you?" he asked, turning bright red again.
Frankie Prescotti
May 28th, 2007, 02:08 AM
"Oh, I think I'd rather have you than the charges, if that's all right?" Frankie answered, yanking him close enough to kiss him, before letting go and sliding back to her side of the bench.
"I'd really like to be out of the cell now. Do you think you can do that?" She asked nicely.

May 28th, 2007, 02:21 AM
Amby let out a strangled little squeak. "I--" He looked longingly at her, but didn't move any further down the bench. "We need to talk first, Frankie," he finally managed, looking helpless. "I need to know what you saw. What happened."
Frankie Prescotti
May 28th, 2007, 09:47 PM
"We've already been over that!" Frankie snapped in frustration, sticking her hands into her pockets. "The window was broken so we climbed in and found the bodies and then the Blythe kid and Solucio showed up... Can't we talk about this outside the cell?" She pleaded, pouting at him.

May 28th, 2007, 11:57 PM
Amby gave her a helpless look. "Please stop asking," he pleaded, looking as if he very much wanted to give in. "I don't want to have to cuff you. Did you see anything that looked...anything that might have explained what happened to them?"
Frankie Prescotti
May 29th, 2007, 01:59 AM
Frankie raised a brow. "You wouldn't!" She told him before shrugging. "No, like I said. We stumbled on the bodies and then we were caught. I don't know anything else."
She scooted a little closer, putting her chin on his shoulder. "So now can we leave?"
Amby Grissom
May 29th, 2007, 02:05 AM
Amby started as she leaned against him, looking a bit bewildered, and then reached over to brush a thumb through her hair. He shot her a crooked little smile. "Are you sure you want to leave quite yet?" he asked her. "There's, ah...there's no one else back here," he pointed out, a bit hesitantly.
Frankie Prescotti
May 29th, 2007, 02:11 AM
"Ah, there are a lot of things not back here." Frankie said just as hesitantly, nuzzling closer. "I'm quite sure I really do want to leave. But," She added, as she unbuttoned the top button of his shirt. "I'd really like it if you escorted me home."

Amby's face went red, and he jolted back, hastily buttoning up his shirt. "I--" He choked, pulling himself to his feet, and making quite a bit of a fuss about smoothing down his trousers. "I suppose I can let you go on your own recognizance," he mumbled at the floor.
Frankie Prescotti
May 30th, 2007, 03:59 AM
"That's fine too." Frankie said happily, bounding up and over to the cell door, smirking at him. "Thank you Officer. I promise I'll be good and only commit unlawful acts with you in the future."
Amby Grissom
May 30th, 2007, 09:59 AM
There was a funny little noise in the back of Amby's throat, and he stalked over to the woman, putting his arms around her waist to pull her forward, closer to him. "You say things like that, I could keep you here on conspiracy charges," he warned softly, smirking back.

The woman squawked in surprise, putting her hands up on the man's shirtfront. She managed to smile back, tilting her head. "I thought you didn't want to press anything?" Frankie reminded him in a whisper.

Amby reached with one hand for the cell bars, giving Frankie a questioning look. "I might have to," he informed her, very serious. "But first you're going to have to tell me about these unlawful acts you're intending to commit."

Frankie bit her finger, thinking. "Well, breaking and entering is covered. Larceny always sounded like fun, even though I'm not quite sure what it is. Maybe putting lawn flamingos in interesting postions?" She tried, just as serious. "What did you want to do?"

Amby hesitated, his mouth going a bit agape for a moment. "I wanted to--I don't know!" he answered, flustered.
He sputtered a bit, then offered her an arm. "I was going to escort you home, wasn't I?"
Frankie Prescotti

Frankie laughed, and grabbed his arm. "You were!" She said cheerfully. "And if we come across any of those lawn flamingos..." The woman suggested, waggling her eyebrows.

Amby didn't look half as pleased. "I'll write you a ticket," he warned, as he led her our of the cell.
